The Burleson County Commissioners Court is requesting bids from qualified contractors to enter into
a professional services contract to update a Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan. The plan
shall be compliant with the criteria set forth in the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and
Emergency Assistance Act, Public Law 93-288, 42 U.S.C. §5121, et seq. (the “Stafford Act”), as
Amended by the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, Public Law 106-390 (“DMA 2000”), and the
Requirements set forth under 44 C.F.R. Part 201, §201.6, and other applicable State and Federal
Requirements, as determined by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The Updated Plan
will also meet the most current FEMA Local Mitigation Plan Review Tool Requirements. In addition,
the plan will be aligned with the State of Texas Hazard Mitigation Plan. A copy of the current plan
is available upon request.
Burleson County’s current Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan was approved by FEMA in 2021
and will expire in May of 2027. The final proposed Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan must
be ready to submit to FEMA by March 31, 2026.
