Residents of Burleson County Can Now Recycle!
CARDBOARD ONLY:
Got lots of boxes piling up from Girl Scout cookie orders and online shopping, but you live in town or don't have a dump pass? You can drop off flattened cardboard for FREE at the Cardboard Recycling Center located at 265 County Road 107 in South Caldwell, across from the Livestock Auction Barn.
Please encourage your local businesses, places of worship, and schools to also take advantage of this free service, as the baled cardboard is sold to help offset the cost of waste management paid with taxpayer dollars!
CARDBOARD + PLASTIC BOTTLES, CANS, & PAPER:
Burleson County also offers recycling services at the four main precinct collection (dump) stations. Residents can access the recycling dumpsters/trailers with their dump pass during regular hours for no extra charge.
How do you recycle? Simply add a second bin next to your trash can and toss in all of your unbagged plastic bottles (please remove lids), aluminum cans, and paper. Flatten the cardboard and stack it behind/next to the bin. Make sure each item is clean and dry. Bring your recycling container and cardboard along when you drop off your trash destined for the landfill. Watch for specially marked trailers where your cardboard can be dropped off to be baled, and empty the contents of your bin into the dumpster labeled "Recycling." Shredded paper must be recycled in a bag; no other bags are allowed.
Please call the Burleson County Environmental Officer or ask a dump attendant if you have any questions. Not only is recycling great for the environment, it reduces the cost of waste management!
